Lifelines

My favorite time of the day is from about 10pm until 1:00am.

I’m definitely nested by this time (which is a MAJOR departure from my pre-Luxe life where I’d been happily blogging away during that period) and Luxe and I are usually alone.

During the day, I keep her mostly in the nest and use a baby monitor to listen for her…although she does not sleep well without me so it’s almost a moot point.
But unless Creux is napping, usually from 2:00-4:00, I can’t stay and snuggle with her.
I feed and bolt.
Then she wakes and I have to do it all over again.

But at night, I have no worries.
The house is clean, my children are all snug in their beds, Charlie is invoicing or hanging out with the boys (if they’re not all snug in their beds).
My attention is not pulled anywhere, directed only to her and once she drifts off, to the tv where I’m currently catching up on this past season of “Brothers and Sisters” or I’ll hop on my Netbook or pick up reading “A Reliable Wife” (I CAN’T put this book down! A story of one man’s lust and one woman’s deceit. Scandelous!).

So we nest, we girls do.

It’s heavenly.

Neither of these two should have been up at 11:00–but they were!

And it ended up being a sweet thing because I was able to find some quiet time for Rhyse to spend with Luxe.
I’ve been really mindful of not letting all of the kids storm her at once though I hate shooing them off.
But finding a few minutes of “alone time” is so much better.

Plus, I was able to eat a bowl of cereal.

(You don’t realize that eating is a luxury, do you? Well, here I am to remind you that it is :))
