Luxe's First Days
Well, I’m not!
The only real “free time” I can scrounge up in a day is in the morning as she likes to sleep late.
A girl after my own heart :)
But from about 5:00 until 10:30ish, she wants me to hold her.
And love her.
And nurse her.
She does not want the swing or the bouncy seat or her brothers or her father.
She wants Mama.
PERIOD.
And so, this is what I look like these evenings:

I wander around the house, doing what I can one-handed and delegating the rest.
I have an order in for a new baby sling, one that looks deliciously snug and hands-free so hopefully I’ll be able to do more and just wear her.
(”How many slings do we need?” Charlie asks.
He knows I have a small army of slings in my closet but those are for different ages and stages.
I need a newborn “close-containing” sling for Luxe in these early days.
“As many as it takes,” is my reply.
HE’S not the one rendered one-armed and so, yes, we order “another damn sling.” :))

We were lucky enough to have some special visitors earlier this week!
Charlie’s cousin Cindy and her daughter Carol stopped by for a bit of baby snuggling and to drop off a yummy dinner.
(Thank you–we had it that night and it was delicious!)
Cindy, I had a great time visiting with you and Carol, my kids had a wonderful time clamboring for your attention!
Hopefully we’ll see you both again sooner rather than later.
XO

ARGH!
These are from like Day Two of Luxe’s life and here I am posting super late!
Better late than never though, right?
Photos of Charlie’s dad and his wife meeting grandbaby number…12?
(My mind can not handle math right now. I’m just trying super hard to remember which side I last nursed on and THAT’S proving difficult!)

This is the last of the party stuff, I swear.
But there are cute moments here that I don’t want to pass by so I’m spending the allotted 16 minutes of free time that my baby will allow me to finish up Greer’s birthday :)

Once she had blown out her candle, the others wanted a turn, too.
Smart little cookies–who would pass up a chance to make a wish?
(Not me. Not EVER me. And evidently not THEM, either!)

Emma, thanks for joining us for Greer’s birthday! She said it was her best EVER and I’ve no doubt that’s because she had her sweet (ornery :)) friend by her side all night long!

BIG fan of the “tuptakes.”

Sweet, sweet, sweet…

Presents!
Jenny and Emma, thanks for the Polly Pocket gear (and the super cute flip-flops)!

William sent his love :)

There were only six kids in the house but it felt, and sounded like, 13.

“Noooooooooo!”
That means “Get your meaty little paws off my gifts, PUNK!”

Last but not least, just one more set of wheeled thingies to take up space in my yard and garage.
But it’s the summer of “Go Outside And PLAY!” so we deal with it.
Plus, look how happy she is!
(To come: photos of how NOT happy she is when she falls and busts her wee tushie.)
